Cat family Bashaw
Do you remember the chocolate brown cat that was dropped off at the shelter full of milk and without any kittens? We decided to bring her back to the yard where she was found. I’ve always been a bit unsure about doing this, but in the best interest of the kittens, we decided to go ahead and return her.
On Friday, we received a sad message that a chocolate brown cat was roaming by the Max Pizza place south of Bashaw. The cat appeared to be injured with a broken leg. We went out looking for the cat, but we couldn’t find her.
On Saturday, we went back to check and relocate the traps. At 4:30 p.m., we received a call that she was in the trap.
We brought her to the shelter, and thank goodness, her leg wasn’t injured! She had a bald spot on her back and was extremely hungry.
She had a bit of a limp, but nothing serious. We had traps set for the kittens, and today, we were able to catch four kittens in one trap! I’ve never been that lucky to catch four in one trap. They weren’t so happy to see me. They are adorable, wild kittens.
Not knowing how many there were, we set the trap again, and later this evening, we picked up another kitten. So far, we’ve caught a total of five kittens, and mom seems to be doing a bit better already.
So one happy ending!
